Importing data
Bring contacts, companies, deals and tickets in from a CSV file.
Prepare a CSV file
Each file holds one kind of record (contacts, companies, deals or tickets), with a header row.
- Encoding: UTF-8.
- Size: up to 50 MB or 250,000 rows per file, whichever comes first.
- Dates: ISO 8601 (
2026-03-14or2026-03-14T09:30:00Z). - Multiple values in one cell: separate them with a semicolon.
Larger sets can be split across files and imported one after another.
Map columns to properties
The importer matches columns to properties by header name. Review each match, pick another property, or create a new one from an unmapped column.
Required: an email for contacts, a domain or name for companies, a name and pipeline for deals, and a subject for tickets. Rows missing them are listed in the error file you can download after the import.
How duplicates are handled
Contacts are matched by email address and companies by domain. For each import you choose what happens to a match: update the existing record or skip the row.
After the import, the Data Agent suggests merges for records that look alike but didn't match exactly, such as two spellings of the same company. Nothing merges until someone accepts the suggestion.
Undo an import
Open Settings › Import history, choose the import and select Undo. It deletes the records the import created; changes it made to existing records stay.
Undo is available for 72 hours after an import finishes.
