Authenticate your sending domain
Under Marketing › Settings › Sending domains, add your domain. Hourglass gives you three DNS records to publish:
- an SPF include,
- two DKIM keys,
- a DMARC policy, if you don't have one already.
Verification usually finishes within an hour, and always within 48 hours. Until then, marketing email sends from a shared Hourglass domain.
New domain warm-up
A newly authenticated domain sends up to 1,000 marketing emails a day in its first week, then the limit doubles each week while bounce and complaint rates stay low. Emails over the daily limit wait in the queue and go out the next day.
Bounces and unsubscribes
A hard bounce stops all marketing email to that address at once; a soft bounce does after three in a row. Every marketing email carries a one-click unsubscribe header and a link in the footer, and unsubscribes apply within seconds.
