About Hourglass

We build the CRM we always wanted to use

Hourglass started with a simple idea: the teams who serve customers should share one record, and software should take the busywork off their plates.

Our story

Why we built Hourglass

Today, banks, retailers, manufacturers and software companies run their marketing, sales and service on Hourglass.

One record instead of a patchwork

Most growing companies run on a patchwork: a CRM for sales, an email tool for marketing, a help desk for service and spreadsheets in between. Every handoff loses something, and customers notice.

We built Hourglass so every team works from the same customer record.

Agents for the busywork, people for the calls

Agents take on the research, drafting and record keeping that fill people’s days. They work inside the permissions a person sets, and every action can be reviewed.

Our values

How we work

The principles behind the product, and behind how we treat each other.

  • Customers first

We measure our work by what changes for the people who use it.

  • People make the calls

We build agents to help people, never to replace their judgment.

  • Plain and honest

We say what the product does, and what it doesn’t, in words anyone can follow.

  • Small teams, real ownership

Each team owns a problem from start to finish.

  • Learn in the open

We share what we learn, including what didn’t work.

  • Built for the long run

We’d rather keep a customer for years than win a single quarter.
